Type 2A’s is what we call Adrenaline Dominant.
Being Adrenaline Dominant means that Type 2A’s tend to have “high adrenaline sensitivity”.
To put it simply, they are very sensitive to a brain chemical called adrenaline.
I will explain what it means to be sensitive to adrenaline…
And why it’s so important for you in just a moment.
But first, let’s talk about Adrenaline.
Adrenaline is a brain chemical that is present in all of us.
It is the body’s fight-and-flight response to stress.
When your adrenaline levels are high…
You move, think and act faster and better than usual.
Your brain and body move at hyperspeed
You’re able to perform to your best or even better than your usual performance.
The reason why this happens is that adrenaline makes your heart beat faster…
Your lungs breathe more efficiently…
More blood is sent to your brain and muscles…
Making your brain more alert…
Raising your energy levels…
Increasing your strength…
And heightening senses
Your mind will be awake, alert, motivated, excited, and hyperfocused…
And immediately zoom in on things that you need to do during those stressful events.
It’s like when Popeye The Sailorman eating spinach…
Or Bruce Banner turning into the Incredible Hulk…
Your body and mind instantly become much more powerful.
And you turn into the alpha version of yourself.
An adrenaline rush can literally heighten your abilities, making you feel invincible.
When we see people do impossible or extraordinary things under rare situations…
Like when a mother is able to lift up a car with her bare hands when her child is trapped underneath…
It’s usually caused by adrenaline pushing the body way past its usual capabilities.
Now, adrenaline doesn’t only increase during those rare life-and-death instances…
It also increases whenever we experience stress…
Whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional stress.
For instance, when we wake up in the morning…
Our stress levels and adrenaline increase to make us feel more alert and awake.
Drinking coffee also increases our adrenaline level, which is why we immediately feel more alert.
Throughout the rest of the day, our adrenaline levels also increase whenever we experience stress.
The more stress we experience, the higher the adrenaline levels will increase.
And the better we tend to be able to perform.
Now, what does it mean to be “sensitive to adrenaline” for Type 2A’s?
When your brain is sensitive to adrenaline, it means that you don’t need to have as much adrenaline in your brain to experience the same adrenaline effect.
Adrenaline effects such as faster brain processing speed…
Better body and athletic performance…
Enhanced mental abilities…
Or feeling more alert, focused, excited, and motivated.
To use car fuel efficiency as an analogy…
We can think of adrenaline sensitivity like fuel efficiency for your car.
The higher the fuel efficiency of your car is, the better the miles per gallon it will have.
For example, for 5 gallons of gas in your car:
50% fuel efficiency means you can drive 100 miles.
100% fuel efficiency means you can drive 200 miles.
This means that with the same gallon of gas, a car with high fuel efficiency is able to travel more miles than a car with low efficiency.
Adrenaline Sensitivity works in a similar way.
Having high adrenaline sensitivity is like having high fuel efficiency.
When your body has high adrenaline sensitivity…
It means that any small increase in adrenaline is going to create a greater adrenaline effect.
In this case, it means heightened abilities, focus, energy levels, and motivation.
For Type 2A, being adrenaline sensitive also means that they have low levels of adrenaline at rest but heightened sensitivity to any increase in adrenaline.
So oftentimes, Type 2A’s can seem like two totally different people.
At rest, they can be more introverted, calmer, and more relaxed…
But the minute they’re in a stressful situation, the Incredible Hulk takes over…
They go from 0 to 100…
Immediately rising to the occasion…
And become the best, alpha version of themselves.
People with high adrenaline sensitivity tend to do very well during stressful situations…
Like when there’s an important deadline coming.
Or during instances where they need to perform to their best and rise up to the occasion.
The more stressful and important that event is, the more they shine.
If you ever wonder why some people can instantly become more motivated, focused, driven, disciplined, and have high willpower to do what needs to be done…
Especially during events when it’s stressful or for important things that require a lot of effort to get through…
Like getting started and staying committed at the gym…
One of the reasons could be that they have high adrenaline sensitivity.
The more things matter and become important…
Such as when it affects their survival, livelihood, or loved ones…
Or when it affects their personal goals that mean a lot to them…
Whether it’s related to weight loss, career, or family…
The more they are able to instantly turn the switch, become the best version of themselves and get things done.
On the other hand, people who constantly appear to be lazy, easily distracted, unmotivated, lack the discipline and willpower to do what needs to be done even during important, difficult, and stressful moments…
They could just have lower adrenaline sensitivity.
(One of the common causes of low adrenaline sensitivity for Type 2A is adrenaline desensitization. More on this in the next section.)
So if you ever wonder why you’re unmotivated, lazy, procrastinate often, lacking in discipline and willpower whenever you’re doing something important (but also give you stress)...
To start exercising…
Or to stay committed to a diet…
Or to be productive at work.
It’s actually not your fault.
It’s because your body is actually working against you…
And preventing you from achieving your goals.
I will explain more about why that is the case and how to overcome it later on.
More importantly, I will also show you how you can take advantage of your unique brain chemistry to achieve your goals easily in a much shorter time.
What these all mean for Type 2A is this:
Because of their high adrenaline sensitivity…
It’s much easier and faster for them to be highly motivated, driven, and focused than most people during tough or stressful events…
Or when they work on goals that matter to them.
Like starting or staying committed to a diet or workout plan.
They find it much easier to stick to tasks, stay committed, and work on difficult goals that tend to make people give up easily.
Having high adrenaline sensitivity is one of the unique defining factors that contribute to Type 2A’s unique personality traits and strength.
(Note: these scientific explanations are overly simplified and the actual mechanism is much more complex. But the most important thing is not to get too hung up on the science and focus on the application which I will be sharing with you in a bit).
Now, if you find that even though you’re Type 2A…
But you’re not always motivated, focused, and perform at your best during stressful or important events…
Or if you’re NOT displaying any of Type 2A’s unique personality traits and strengths…
Or even if you are actually doing okay but find it challenging to achieve your goals faster and easier…
It’s usually because of several common pitfalls that Type 2A’s tend to experience.
These pitfalls often prevent Type 2A’s from achieving their goals…
Including getting a sexier and healthier body easily.
